My colleague, A.Y.Watt has been writing about the Doric Technology Institute and one of his reports covered a nosey version of the Ring doorbell.nosey version of the Ring doorbell that kent abody’s business.

Now just a few month after it published Ring have been subject to a controversy where they had to part ways with a technology partner that ran a Super Bowl ad promising to network all the cameras in the neighbourhood Rings to form a surveillance network. Of course they didn’t call it that, they gave the example of being able to check where your lost cat is currently getting its 3rd dinner.

But that’s not how the story ends is it.

Luckily Ring gave this partner the boot rather than engaging in some mealy mouthed nonsens about how participation in the network would be through choice etc etc.

We live in truely absurd times.
