Hamester’s log - Star date 02023

Dear Reader,

There is a lack of quality news sources in Dumfries. This new addition doesn’t solve that problem. The Doonhamer is just a bit of fun; sometimes cheeky, sometimes bizarre, rarely serious. We write in English and various forms of the Scots leid, Lallans and Doric among them.

At the time of writing, the publication is put together by Our Editor in Chief is “The Hamester” (get it?) who maintains the site and figures out policies. We have a policy of no comments on articles. Facebook is crawling with wazzocks talking shite and commenting before they think or even read the full content. If you feel so inclined to do us a solid, you are of course free to share articles there and wind those folk up. We also - sadly - have a policy of marking everything that is totally made up with the “Humour” category. Most of our content falls under that category. You may not find it funny. That’s OK.

If from time to time one of our articles puts a smile on your face, then that’s job done as far as we’re concerned.

If you have any complaints, please make a banner and place it on the Burns statue, someone will notice it eventually.
